Customs Clearance Operator - NEW ROLEFull TimeUp to £24k pa depending on experienceMember of Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) - Annual Bonus (Tax-Free) for EmployeesCompany PensionTraining & Development OpportunitiesBased in Lichfield (WS14 9DT) although currently working from home/remotelyEspace Europe specialises in the movement of freight to and from Europe. We currently have vacancies in our newly-established Customs Consortium. This department will carry out the new EU customs requirements resulting from Brexit.We would ideally like the successful candidate to have some knowledge of customs and European freight forwarding. This is a great opportunity for somebody looking for career development / change of direction. They would be joining the only Employee Owned freight / logistics company in the U.K.The Role: Our Customs Clearance Operators will be required to liaise closely with our Operations team to ensure all relevant customs documents have been generated and I.T systems (both internal and external) are updated in a timely manner.Operational : Declarations will need to be completed accurately within the required time frames, escalating any issues to their line manager.Customer Service : Providing excellent customer service and keeping customers advised on declaration completion and confirming VAT and duty payments to customers when required. Spotting and reacting to any customs issues that might cause delay to a shipment.Administration: All VAT and duty invoices to be generated in our freight management system and emailed to customers.About you: You will be a self-starter with high levels of motivation to do a great job. Some knowledge of customs is required. Basic entries into CHIEF and knowledge of the NCTS, CFSP systems would be advantageous but not essential.Working for an Employee Owned business requires its co-owners to be team players. Strong communication and organisational skills will be needed as will an ability to prioritise and manage high work loads at times.
