Business Development Manager: Freight Forwarding Our client is a leading international company specialising in transport, logistics, and supply chain solutions. With a global presence and a commitment to innovation and excellence, we are looking for a dynamic and experienced Business Development Managerto join our team and drive our growth in the West Midlands area.Business Development Manager job description:As a Business Development Manager , you will play a crucial role in expanding their market presence and driving revenue growth. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, establishing, and nurturing client relationships, and developingstrategic partnerships in the transport and logistics sector.Business Development Manager key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential clients and market trends and analyse competitors and industry developments to stay ahead in the market.
  • Identify and approach potential clients to understand their needs and propose tailored solutions.
  • Travelling around West Midlands, and sometimes East Midlands
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads to achieve sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders and act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and customise solutions to meet client requirements.
  • Out on the road Tuesday - Thursday
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to secure new business deals.
  • Ensure timely closure of sales contracts and agreements.
  • Identify opportunities for geographic and service expansion.
  • Develop and execute strategies to penetrate new markets and sectors.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on sales activities and progress.
  • Forecast revenue, track performance against targets, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Ensure all contracts and agreements adhere to company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales-related activities.
Business Development Manager Key requirements:
  • Proven track record of at least 18 months in business development or sales within the transport and logistics industry.
  • A well-developed client books would be beneficial
  • Strong understanding of transport and logistics operations and services.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Results-driven with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Suite.
Business Development Manager Remunerations:
  • Salary £35,000- £40,000
  • Car allowance of £4,800 per annum.
  • Commission scheme of 5% GP in 18 months.
