Job Description

An Outstanding Primary School in Waltham Forest are currently seeking an experienced KS1 SEN TA to join their team as soon as possible on a full-time basis. As an SEN TA, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide additional support to studentswith Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).Key responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one support to students with SEND in the classroom
  • Implementing tailored learning programs and adapting teaching materials as required
  • Supporting students with their personal care needs
  • Monitoring and recording student progress
  • Assisting with the implementation of behaviour management strategies
  • Working closely with the class teacher to ensure consistent and effective support
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with SEND students in a KS1 classroom environment
  • A good understanding of different SEND needs
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Availability to work full-time as soon as possible
The ideal candidate will also be PECS, Makaton, and Team Teach trained, although this is not a necessity.
