Job Description

RSR Police is a market leading recruitment business dedicated to supplying experienced practitioners on a temporary, contractual or permanent basis to the Law Enforcement, Cyber Security, Offender Management and Regulatory Services talent markets.RSR are currently recruiting on behalf of our policing client based in Leicestershire for a VRN Researcher.This is a full time, fixed term contract for 6 months and offers a rate of pay of £14.22 per hour.Main Duties:

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis to produce objective, comprehensive, clear and timely analysis of serious violence and other relevant areas.
  • Support the VRN Evidence & Evaluation Lead and Data Analyst by accompanying them to meetings where research, evidence or evaluation are discussed.
  • Support the work of the VRN by providing advice on suitable performance measures so that well informed contracts/service level agreements can be negotiated.
  • Provide a transparent and easy to understand performance framework to support the delivery of the VRNs Response Strategy and utilise to report to various boards and national requirements.
  • Ensure that any identified performance concerns together with a range of solutions are brought to the attention of the VRN Evidence & Evaluation Lead without delay.
  • Responsible for production of other performance and planning reports, for information and/or decision-making purposes, including trend and risk analysis where relevant.
  • Monitor and analyse the political and policy environment and to identify opportunities and threats for the delivery of the Response Strategy.
  • Compose briefings on relevant matters to be presented to the VRN in order to support the local, regional and national strategic priorities.
  • Liaison with VRN and Force departments and external stakeholders.
Essential Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or work experience involving research, analysis of data or statistics.
  • Educated to postgraduate level in a relevant field (such as Criminology) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of serious violence, its causes (risk factors) and the public health approach.
  • Experience working in an analytical environment where you are required to undertake analysis and research work.
  • Experience of producing comprehensive performance, research and evaluation reports.
  • Experience of analysing both qualitative and quantitative datasets.
  • Experience of using statistical software such as SPSS.
