Job Description

A main contractor based in Leicestershire are looking to add a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to their team due to their continued growth and plans for 2024. This role will be working as part of the already established commercial team on anexciting number of projects across the UK.Client DetailsThis client work predominantly within the health care, education and commercial sectors across the UK, with their projects ranging from £50K up to £6/7 million. They pride themselves on the repeat business they get from their loyal customer base and workwith a large number of clients on multiple projects at any one time.Description

  • Procurement and selection of subcontractors and suppliers through re-tendering.
  • Oversight of material and labour expenses in relation to the budget.
  • Preparation of monthly reports on cost and value.
  • Creation of monthly client assessments to optimise cash flow.
  • Evaluation and approval of subcontractor requests.
  • Ensuring consistent positive cash flow on a monthly basis.
  • Handling negotiations and final settlements for client and subcontract accounts.
  • Identification and assessment of potential risks.
  • Managing and settling claims related to time extensions and additional expenses.
  • Oversight of change management processes.
  • Guidance and support for junior Quantity Surveyors.
  • Fulfilling other responsibilities as directed by management.
  • Performing general administrative tasks in relation to the commercial role.
ProfileThe ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in main contracting and strong contractual knowledge of both JCT and NEC contracts. You will have experience managing more junior members of staff as well as running your own projects and behappy in a role where you are both office and site based - depending on the projects/locations.Time management and cost reporting skills are essential for this role, as well as strong negotiation skills and the ability to work well under pressure.Job OfferIn return this client can offer a competitive salary and package (depending on experience) ranging from £45-65K basic salary.
