Job Description

Company: AshfieldPosition: Medical Information OfficerLocation: Head Office - HybridVacancy Type: PermanentSalary: CompetitiveAshfield is currently recruiting for a Medical Information Officer on behalf of Sanofi. The successful candidate will ensure delivery of high quality medical information services both reactively to external customers and proactively to internal customers,which conforms to all relevant legal requirements, Codes of Practice and company guidelines and policies. The role will support the appropriate, effective and continued use of Sanofi products by providing high quality responses to requests for medical information.Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond in a timely manner to internal and external customer enquiries relating to Sanofi products and disease areas. This includes direct requests, enquiries escalated from the Front Line and enquiries escalated from head office Medical Information Team
  • Be able to conduct literature searches to answer more complex enquiries in standard databases such as Medline and Embase. Present the data in a format appropriate to the end user
  • Be able to assess hierarchy of MI resources to respond to more complex enquiries and be able to utilise MI resources to answer enquiries
  • Prioritise enquiries involving patient care
  • Provide answers through the customers preferred channel i.e. E-mail/telephone call/letter etc
  • Document all enquiries accurately in GMI Connect IM. Includes appropriate use of comments fields when escalating enquiries between different colleagues.
  • Document adverse events and product complaints as appropriate
  • Assist senior Ashfield colleague and Ashfield manager with onboarding of new colleagues
  • Assist with training of MI colleagues and others as per business need on MI processes. E.g. front line contact centre
  • Comply with record retention requirements and archiving
  • Partner with Sanofi colleagues to create, up-date and withdraw Local standard response documents as needed
  • Assist with up-date of LSRDs following safety changes to licence, as needed.
  • Once accredited, review MI colleagues medical responses and content as per QC guidelines.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Sanofi products and understanding of competitor products
  • Produce reports from GMI Connect, as requested to provide insights to internal customers
  • Have a working knowledge of UK/IE Codes of practice (ABPI, IPHA), PIPA guidelines, copyright laws.
  • Follow all legal, Code of Practice, Sanofi and Ashfield guidelines and policies
  • Be able to purchase and supply medical papers reactively for customers upon request
  • Partner with Sanofi colleagues within MI or other departments on projects, as capacity permits
  • Contribute to development of processes and proactively suggesting ideas for continuous improvement
  • Be audit ready at all time for internal (Sanofi) and external inspections
  • Ensure all training is completed on time and be 100% compliant with training needs
  • Actively participate and document Ashfield performance management process
  • Some travel to receive or deliver training to Reading Head office or front-line vendor within UK, as needed.
  • Deputise for senior medical information officer at Ashfield in their absence as required
  • Build working relationships with key internal business partners such as quality, PV, regulatory and customer services. Partner with colleagues to resolve issues.
  • Provide therapeutic lead and expert knowledge to support the Medical Information Teams, supported by the Medical Information Manager.
  • Develop and maintain contact with all supporting functions within the Ashfield Group including but not limited to Medical Compliance, HR and Resourcing.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Medical Information Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines.
  • Undertake other tasks and assignments which may be required by the Project Manager or Company as discussed and agreed
Requirements:
  • Life Science degree, Batchelors minimum, Masters preferred
  • Ability to coach and develop others
  • Desire to support patients, provide information and assistance

  • Excellent and consistent Customer Service provision
