Job Description

JOB ROLETo provide investigate support to the Safeguarding and Investigations department of Delivering Justice Directorate.OPERATIONAL

  • To assist in investigations by undertaking a wide range of tasks under the direction of the supervisor/Police Officer
  • To assist in the interviewing of suspects
  • To assist in the completion of criminal files of evidence by undertaking allocated tasks
  • To provide assistance to the investigation by obtaining statements of evidence for criminal investigation
  • To assist in the examination, preservation and continuity of evidence and exhibits such as CCTV recovered during and investigation in accordance with procedure.
  • Submit accurate records in to the force intelligence systems
  • Be prepared to use your own vehicle when necessary
COMMUNICATION
  • Be able to communicate effectively with witnesses to obtain information to assist an investigation, keeping them updated in accordance with victim code requirements
  • Attend court if required and give evidence in relation to aspects of any investigation that are within personal knowledge or as in which the post holder has any involvement during the investigation process.
  • To discuss cases with supervisors and provide information to assist in disposal actions.
  • Undertake property enquiries in accordance to force policies
ADMINISTRATION
  • To complete statements following correct procedures
  • To undertake the completion of a wide range of documentation relating to an investigation
  • Ensure material is identified and recorded in accordance with CPIA
  • Be prepared to work the department work shift pattern
PERSONAL/INTERPERSONAL APTITUDES
  • Experience in a role requiring the use of investigative skills in dispute/conflict resolution
  • To have experience of working in a high pressured environment with high workloads
  • Must have a full driving licence
