Job Description

We currently have an opportunity within out transport team working as a night shift supervisor!Reporting to the Transport manager you will provide support to the transport team and oversee daily operational activities and could involve the daily route planning of the vehicles, ensuring statutory compliance of vehicle maintenance, drivers working timeand tachographs, liaising with stores, other departments and drivers on delivery issues.The Role

  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Complete robust briefing/debriefing process on a daily basis with drivers
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->To ensure that stores receive their deliveries at the right time consistently
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->To ensure the distribution fleet is well maintained at all times & legally compliant
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Driver management, up to 35 core heads, 3rd party suppliers and 2 outbases
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Manage drivers hours to ensure efficient utilisation
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Ensure drivers are managed to work within the drivers hours and working time regulations
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->To manage and monitor the required KPIs
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Review current ways of working to consistently support efficiency drives
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->That Health & Safety is adhered to at all times
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->To ensure that all people routines are adhered to, i.e. holiday/recruitment/absence
The Person
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Previous supervisory or management experience with a proven ability to lead, coach and inspire people
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Experience of working with third party suppliers
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Good understanding of Road Traffic Legislation
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Excellent knowledge of Digital Tachograph Legislation
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Knowledge of Microsoft Excel to an intermediate standard
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->A strong team player
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with an ability to build and develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Confident and assertive to challenge and push back when necessaryinfluencing people at all levels
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Excellent time management, planning and organisational skill
  • <!--[if !supportLists]--> <!--[endif]-->Experience of route planning advantageous
