Job Description

Software Product TesterAlfen is delighted to be working exclusively with one of the trail blazers in IoT home. This business headquartered in Leicester is going through a period of explosive growth due to the fantastic reception their products have received. The business providesa fun, friendly work environment without the usual corporate constraints found in a consumer electronics business whose products touch millions.Seeking a Test Analyst to join their rapidly growing team to help to keep up with their expanding product base and increasing IoT presence. This fantastic opportunity would be ideally suited to somebody with a technical background, barrels of enthusiasm,and the enthusiasm to learn alongside the development team.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • A good Test Analyst will raise issues on our bug tracking software when appropriate.
  • Assisting with technical support when required.
  • Testing our IOS and Android apps alongside integrations with Amazon Alexa and more.
  • Testing firmware on our hardware products with network and power consumption focus.
  • Utilising software such as Slack and Trello to ensure you are always working on the highest priority tasks and communication between departments is kept up to date.
Skills and Experience:
  • All our Test Analysts need very strong written English.
  • IoT/Bluetooth/Wifi/Firmware Testing Experience.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work autonomously when required.
  • A technical mindset, ability to process a problem and narrow down a list of appropriate solutions.
  • To be able to work independently and deliver reliable results on a daily basis.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications :
  • Basic understanding of IoT devices.
  • Previous use of version control software such as GIT.
  • Fluency in another European language is not required but would be advantageous.
  • We would like our Test Analysts to have an ability to cook (Due to the nature of the product being cooking related, some cooking skills would be advantageous).
  • Take an avid interest in products and how they can be improved.
