Job Description

Job Title: Software EngineerLocation: LeicesterPermanentAn experienced Software Engineer is required for an aerospace and defence company based in Leicestershire. The role predominantly involves definition, planning, creation, verification and maintaining the existing software processes, identifying improvementsand connecting with the wider teams to maintain the software engineering. Candidates should have some practical project or systems engineering experience gained either in employment or an internship ideally from sectors such as communications, aerospace, defenceor high integrity electronics sectors.Why should this role interest me

Software engineer- What you get to do
  • Understand software requirements, design, implementation, development and test environment, tools and processes to perform design development and integration, testing and qualification.
  • Creation and maintenance of software development plans.
  • Development of safety critical software.
  • Support the Software Technical Lead to define, plan, create and verify software development and testing environment including investigating and validating the use of alternative toolsets where obsolescence or market availability has rendered a componentunobtainable.
Skills and qualifications helpful for the role of software engineer
  • Degree qualified in Software Engineering or computing related subject.
  • Advanced object-oriented programming and debugging skills in Real Time and Windows operating environmentsLanguages include - C, C++ and C# .NET
  • Experienced in software development in a safety critical or regulated industry that work to design assurance levels or guidelinesDO-178, MISRA, ED-12, EN 50128 Etc
  • Ability to gain UK SC level clearance.
