Job Description

Senior Technical Project Manager | Leicester | Full Time | £40,000 - £50,000Since its inception in 2006, our client has built up a trusted reputation and a strong track record as a one-stop-shop retail design company by providing adaptable and reliable solutions for our customers in the ever-changing retail environment.The company also has an extended capacity from our China-based team assisting the UK for engineering, estimation, project management and logistics. Are you the right person for the job

  • Balanced working experience in both POP display and store fixture/fitting (10-20 years)
  • Good manufacturing knowledge of all materials (metal, joinery, plastics, electrics, printing)
  • Ability to hand sketch, develop structure and identify materials at the level of BOM
  • Product development skilful by Solid work software
  • Provide estimated costs via well connected manufacturers of all disciplines
  • Manage costing, sampling, production and fitting (when necessary)
  • Multiple tasking and good time management.
  • International sourcing in EU / E.EU is a plus
  • Local commuting as it will be office-based
What will your role look like
  • Work with the sales team to manage retail interior fixtures, point of purchase (POP) and associated services from initial briefings and concepts, development, prototypes, production, distribution
  • Provide cost estimation of retail furniture and services from technical drawings, sketches and concepts with estimators by vendors from the UK, EU
  • Procure and manage the production journey of retail furniture from the Far-east, UK and European supply chains, keeping to agreed timescales, budgets and quality levels
  • Liaison with design and engineering members (internal and external)
  • Responsible for reporting project status internally and externally
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving pre-determined budgets for the procurement of goods and services exceeding expectations where possible
  • Occasionally, management of the retail installation process either via third-party suppliers. These duties may include the necessity of site visits to monitor progress and lend assistance where required
  • Management of the quality control process during manufacture via site visits and inspections
  • Develop and maintain supply chain by discipline and global geographic locations
  • Occasional overseas travelling
  • Assist with new product or internal project launching by either initiating or implementing the plan
  • Able to use appropriate project management tools for tracking and reporting
  • Commercial terms review and negotiation with the suppliers
  • Identify and implement business process and procedures improvement with the Management.
  • Establish personal and business performance KPIs, and conduct regular reviews with MD
  • Any other tasks and missions related to the project, operations and commercial
