Job Description

Ensure the companys product portfolio is fit for purpose, is consistent and meets both internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations. You must fully understand the requirements for the product or service and havea sense of responsibility towards our potential and existing customers as well as the competition.Client DetailsThe organisation is an established entity in the industrial and manufacturing industry, employing over 200 dedicated staff across various departments. With a focus on developing and manufacturing high-grade resistors, the company has built a robust reputationfor quality and innovation.Description

  • Implement all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance
  • Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies
  • Respond to customer complaints putting in containment actions, full analysis, poka-yokes (error proofing), and implementing short-term and long-term countermeasures
  • Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement culture
  • Act as a point of contact for warranty issues
  • Update quality documentation and communicate to carry forward lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts
  • Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all customer requirements and audits
  • Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
  • Develop quality-process links with customers inline with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers
  • Make sure that production processes meet required standards
  • Define quality procedures in relation to operating staff
  • Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures
  • Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to the Quality Management system (ISO9001)
  • Manage the high level documentation of ISO45001
  • Devise and deliver in-house training for quality awareness
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
ProfileA successful Senior Quality Engineer should have:
  • Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, or ONC, A
  • Levels, BTec Diploma Level 4 or equivalent NVQ level 4 qualification
  • Membership of an industry related Professional Body would be advantageous
  • Experience of working in a similar role
  • Previous experience in a high volume manufacturing automotive environment or Tier-1
  • supplier to the automotive industry
Experience in compiling and actioning:
  • PFMEA.
  • Control plans.
  • Process flow charts.
  • Measurement system and analysis
