Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Challenging behaviourSmile Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a South Leicester secondary school who require additional support in their inclusion department. The school are keen to meet Teaching Assistants to work with a small number of their SEN pupils in KeyStage 3, on a long-term basis.

  • NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or a degree in Psychology or Special Educational Needs
This school have a small number of pupils who exhibit challenging behaviour in the classroom and as such require the help of a specialist Teaching Assistant who can help support, manage and motivate these pupils.This is an extremely rewarding teaching assistant position as the pupils will hopefully grow and flourish under the guidance of dedicated support. However, this is not a position for everyone and ideally candidates need to have had previous experience ofworking with special educational needs and challenging behaviour.The school would like to meet candidates that are happy to work on a long-term basis in order for the pupils to form strong working relationships and trust with the recruited Teaching Assistants.Full support will be given from the school’s SEN department and dedicated SENCo who are there to provide training and guidance in the best way to be effective.
