Staff have a hybrid working pattern, decided on a pro-rata basis: because of the nature of the work,this role cannot be undertaken entirely remotely.RoleAs Records Manager we want you to provide experienced and specialist expertise to the University in the management of modern records, working with the University’s academic and professional services staff to ensure that the institution’s records, informationand data are appropriately managed, stored, accessible and retrievable.You will be responsible for maintaining the University’s Information Asset Register, retention schedules and Records of Processing Activities. In addition, we want you to lead on offering guidance and training across the university to embed best practicewithin all departments, faculties and directorates. As we are a small team, you will also be involved in other aspects of Information Governance work including assessing DPIAs, advising on international data transfers, preparing reports and policy development.This role is on a permanent, part time basis (22.5 hours per week).Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone with a recognised professional qualification or substantial equivalent experience in archives, records management or information management. You will have experience of implementing organisational change and a clear understandingof how technology (such as Microsoft 365) can help to manage our records effectively.You will also need to have a good overview of relevant legislation and best practice including the UK GDPR, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and ISO 15489.It is also important that you are friendly, approachable and able to put across your specialist knowledge to a wide range of people. You should be able to use your own judgement and offer leadership and support to colleagues in the absence of the InformationGovernance Manager.
