Job Description

Job Title: PorterJob Type: Temporary Location: LeicesterPay Rate: £11.44Hours: Various shifts Start: Various start dates from mid MayAre you looking for a fulfilling role where you can make a difference every day We are looking for dedicated individuals to join our clients team as Hospital Porters. As an integral part of the healthcare service, you will play a vital role in ensuring thesmooth and safe transportation of patients and equipment throughout our facilities.Main Duties:

  • Safely transport patients to wards, clinics, and departments.
  • Utilize a powered Bedpusher machine (once fully trained & competent).
  • Distribute and collect post from all Trust areas.
  • Move equipment, furniture, and beds between hospital areas as required.
  • Assist with the distribution and collection of medical gases around the RUH site.
  • Use a handheld device to manage assigned tasks for safe patient transportation and equipment movement.
  • Maintain flexibility, motivation, and professionalism in your approach to work.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Person Specification:Qualifications:
  • Essential: A good level of general education, numeracy, and literacy.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of health & safety practices.
Experience:
  • Essential: Experience of working with the public.
  • Desirable: Previous hospital portering experience.
Driving:
  • Essential: Full clean driving license.
Time Management:
  • Essential: Ability to effectively manage your own workload.
