Job Description

Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator for Surfacing | Leicester | Full Time| £45,000 - £60,000 depending on experienceEstablished in Leicestershire in 1946, our client has continued to trade since then as a specialist road surfacing contractor. Following a management buy-out in 2002, the company has undergone vigorous growth to its present turnover of £5 million p.a.Our client is currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their commercial team.They are a specialist Road Surfacing contractor working in a variety of sectors, this will be an office-based position with regular visits to sites.What can you expect in return

Are you the right person for the job
  • Surveying/Estimator 2 years (Preferred)
  • Experience as a quantity surveyor / Estimator in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Valid UK Driving License
  • Have strong IT and numerical skills.
  • Experience in remeasuring packages
  • Be highly organised and able to work to deadlines.
  • Hold a qualification or equivalent in a relevant field
What will your role as a Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator for Surfacing look like
  • The role will consist of taking on Surfacing projects.
  • Prepare and/ or review tenders with the Surfacing Director assisting with understanding the clients requirements and offering value engineering.
  • Undertake costs analysis.
  • Be able to produce Bills of Quantities for Surfacing including material take-offs and cost analysis.
  • Manage and control any variations on site and agree with the client accordingly.
  • Be able to provide financial reporting and analysis when required for the management team.
  • To visit site and undertake any measures/or remeasures required.
  • Attend site meetings and provide financial update to the client and design team throughout projects.
  • Value completed work and ensured timely payment.
  • Provide early cost advice to client on variations
