Job Description

We are currently looking for a Quantitative Methods Tutor to join our busy team at the University of Leicester Global Study Centre, Stamford Court, Oadby, Leicester.Salary: £3640 / hour depending on qualifications and experienceContract Type: Sessional, part-time. Face-to-face teaching 4 to 8 hours per week initially.Quantitative Methods Tutor Duties:

  • You will deliver the module(s) in a communicative way and be able to adapt to students needs.
  • You will be responsible for planning, preparing, teaching modules in the classroom using student centric delivery methods and providing guidance and support to the students.
  • You will be supported throughout and be provided with a scheme of work and basic teaching and learning materials
  • To update/add the materials as per the course and student requirements; and write and mark formative and summative assessments.
Quantitative Methods Tutor Requirements:Essential experience required
  • Minimum Masters degree in a relevant subject
  • Teaching and assessment experience in UK higher education, further education or 6th form
  • Experience of teaching Economics, Maths, Statistics, Quantitative Methods
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of working with international students
  • Commitment to and understanding of the development of students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly to meet the changing needs of the organisation
  • Understand equal opportunity issues as they may impact on academic content and issues relating to student needs
Desirable experience required
  • Teaching qualification or be prepared to work towards completion
  • PhD or Professional Doctorate in a relevant subject
  • Experience in curriculum design
