Job Description

Our client is a successful privately-owned, award-winning pharmaceutical company with state of the art facilities. They now have a fantastic opportunity for a high calibre QC Team Leader to co-ordinate, perform and check analytical chemistry testing of sterilecontract manufacturing products (small and biologicals) as well as supervise a small team of analytical technicians involved in testing.Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination of in-process, release and stability testing of contract manufacturing products
  • Arrange for testing to be performed at contract test laboratories where required, including setting up contracts, arranging quotes and shipment of samples
  • Involvement in the preparation of and take part in regulatory audits.
  • Involvement in the taking and analysis of cleaning verification samples of production equipment.
  • Attendance to the Production meetings to keep up-to-date with scheduling changes.
  • Perform general administration tasks within all software used for the testing of contract manufacturing products such as writing/approving methods/reports, adding/removing users, performance of periodic global audit trail review etc.
  • Assist with recruitment of new staff and perform any other duties which may be required.
  • Supervision of analytical technicians involved in testing, including scheduling of work, provision of appropriate training and appraisals. Take part, in conjunction with line manager, in addressing issues relating to absence and performance.
About You:
  • Knowledge of a broad range of analytical chemistry techniques - mainly sub-visible particles (by light obscuration), osmolality, UV spectrophotometry, reversed phase HPLC, size-exclusion HPLC, SDS-PAGE, water content by Karl Fischer, particle size by laserdiffraction. Also minor tests like pH, extractable volume, colour/clarity.
  • Extensive laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical environment
  • People-management skills and ability to work effectively and constructively with other functions within Nova
  • Well organised and able to meet agreed deadlines; ability to plan effectively short and long term
  • Ability to make decisions and take responsibility for own area
