Job Description

An opportunity has become available as a Purchasing Manager at Leicester Head Office. The role requires an experienced and highly motivated individual to take responsibility for the procurement of group materials, services, and equipment. Assisted by anexperienced and capable team, this person will look to add structure to the department and develop supplier relationships to reduce costs.This role requires a commercially astute individual to work with site managers and negotiate client contracts/orders. This position comes with extensive scope for growth in a highly progressive business.About the Role

  • Manage the overall direction and coordination of procurement for the group
  • Oversee & develop an effective team by setting objectives and tracking progress
  • Develop & Implement procurement strategies in line with the business objectives
  • Identify areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results
  • Build strong & effective working relationships with suppliers
  • Develop effective relationships with group managers to build commercial understanding
  • Use KPIs to track business performance
  • Carry out Appraisals and PPPs to encourage employee development
  • Build sales understanding to determine product and service needs
  • Create objectives via an annual Purchasing Business Plan
  • Create policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation
  • Implement and support positive change to meet business objectives
  • Undertake staff management procedures in line with company HR guidelines
  • Responsible for a safe and clean working environment in-line with Health and Safety standards
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as requested by the company
About You
  • Must have experience of managing a purchasing department, ideally within a manufacturing environment
  • Industrial stockholding background with an interest in partnering sales strategies
  • Ability to understand processes and make influential decisions on behalf of the business
  • MCIPS qualified is desirable
  • Able to build exceptional relationships with suppliers
