Job Description

Job Title: Production PlannerLocation: LeicesterContract Type: PermanentHours / Days: DaysSalary: £25,000 - £32,000 DOEImmediate start available Our client based in Leicester are looking for an experienced Production Planner and Systems/Document Controller to join their company, due to continued growth of the business. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary dependent on experience. To be successful you should be knowledgeable of material requirements planning (MRP) and able to manage production deadlines. Prior experience working within the engineering and ideally the fabrication sector will be vital to understand key elements of the role.The role requires a person who can coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedule and deadlines. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, self-motivated individual who does not always rely on the systems to provide the answers but with the help and support of colleagues, provides a best-in-class service to customers. You will be required to create, modify, and manage BOMs (Bill of Materials), production schedules and closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time. Also collect the data on job costing and add these to our MRP system and BOMs.Role & Main Duties:* Converting customer orders into production schedules* Agreeing and ensuring delivery dates/plans are met* Ensure customer orders are planned and scheduled to maintain appropriate stock levels and achieve in time delivery* Maintaining and improving the MRP/ERP system* Assist in continuous improvement initiatives and involved in improvement projects, quality, cost and delivery* Address production issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption & liaise with suppliers and the internal team as necessary.* BoM creation, correction and maintenance on the companys ERP system.* Promptly addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production.* Interact with shop floor management daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies.* Updating and storing manufacturing documentation and images.Qualities required:* A successful candidate would have the following:* Production Planning/Scheduling Experience (or understanding if newly qualified graduate)* MRP or ERP Background/Knowledge* Knowledge of Planning within a Manufacturing Environment* Ability to work in a Structured & Methodical Approach* Excellent IT skills, specifically MS Office and ERP systems* Analytical skills able to make recommendations and key decisions working within time constraints.* Knowledge / experience of LEAN principles (advantageous)* Strong organizational and problem-solving skills* Ensuring compliance to current quality standards so ISO9001 experience would be an advantage but not essential.Immediate interview available so please contact Ethan @ Regional Recruitment Services on , or click "Apply Now" to send your CV directly to Regional Recruitment Services Ltd acts as a Recruitment Agency and Employment Business that specialise in Customer Services & Administration, Sales & Marketing, IT & Tech Support, Accountancy & Finance, Supply Chain & Logistics, Engineering & Manufacturing and Trades & Labour.
