FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Plant BuyerJob purposeManages the company plant hire and contributes to the overall profitability of projects through procurement of the most appropriate, cost effective plant; ensures all plant hire complies with health and safety guidelines. Negotiate prices with suppliersand review plant supply chain.Work closely with the Procurement, Accounts and Site teams to make sure that objectives are met. Located in Leicester the role will be mostly office based.Duties and responsibilities Processes plant orders, ensures all plant is correct specification for project Maintains and distributes plant list weekly Updates the weekly plant costs in the relevant systems Keeps up to date with product and technical knowledge Makes recommendations to improve processes, procedures and productivity Acts in accordance with our values and as a role model for other company staff Assists in the mentoring and training of less experienced and new staff Produce plant gains/losses reports Produce plant KPI reportsQualifications, Experience & Capabilities Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential Strong organisational skills; methodical and accurate with numbers and has the ability to manage a budget Commercial acumen and good negotiation skills Strong IT skills Has the ability to prioritise tasks and manage own time to meet deadlines Ability to build rapport with supply chain and site managment Customer focus: Excellent communication and negotiation skills; is able to influence others and build positive long-term relationships. Demonstrates drive and enthusiasm to achieve. Is proactive in problem solving Teamwork: Builds positive and effective relationships across the business. Is responsible, answerable and accountable within the role Builds own capability; develops product awareness and technical knowledge.
