They will oversee the overall efficient and effective delivery of the service, ensuring exceptionally high levels of customerservice are always maintained, whilst delivering on the Contracts KPIs, including health & safety and compliance, and supporting the achievement of the Companys balanced business plans.Why its an opportunity not to be wasted.

• Ensure the effective management of Health and Safety of employees in line with the procedures and H&S legislation.
• Plan, arrange and deliver training for our staff in line with development plans to ensure our staff have the skills and knowledge to operate safely.
• To undertake frequent reviews of our risk assessments and working practices, always striving to improve safety
• Attend SIT meetings at the depot and ensure outputs are communicated to teams
• Ensure the effective allocation of resource such that tasks and operations are completed safely, on time and on budget
• Ensure that the Supervisors and Charge hands deliver on all the service requirements of the Contract
• Constantly review the collection services to ensure that efficiency levels are continuously improved upon, bringing value-added financial performance to the overall Contract.
• Work with the General Manager to develop and implement innovative new and/or additional services for the Client, with the aim of improving the financial performance of the Contract
• Provide management and leadership support for the Collection Services team
• Continuous Improvement - to ensure that deployed technology (eg CCTV, telematics) is effectively used within the Contract - driving adoption and use of analytics to improve business performance. To embrace new technologies and lead on trials for potentialfuture adoption
• Deliver KPI targets against contract and business objectives.
• Develop a working culture that enhances employee engagement.
• Identify areas within your control to remove cost and improve profit.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with the Client and internal/external customers. Attendance Client/customer meetings as required. Ensure that all reports required as part of the Contract are delivered in time for meetings and any followup actions are completed timely.
• Ensure all records and systems are maintained for the effective and compliant operation of the Contract.
• Minimise the use of agency staff and by ensuring that the Supervisors control holidays, sickness and other forms of absence.
• Carry out any other such reasonable job-related tasks as the Company may require you to undertake from time to time

RequirementsHeres what we require:

• Waste Management background
• People and health & safety management in a unionised environment, including disciplinaries, grievances, recruitment, etc.
• Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPIs
• Experience of vehicle management - CPC, tachos, Road Transport Directive
• Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational / service environment
• Experience Managing large commercial fleet.
• Understands relevant industry, transport and health & safety legislation
• Understands how to manage people, including conflict and performance
• Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of working within a time critical service environment
• General knowledge of environmental responsibilities and existing health and safety legislation
• Can influence, lead and persuade others
• Can deal with conflict and negotiate desired outcomes
• Analytical and has techniques for identifying and solving problems
• Highly numerate and literate, both in verbal and written forms
• Confident and credible presenter
• IT literate - comfortable using business software and systems
• Effective time manager and self-organiser
