Job Description

Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerSalary: £27,500 - £45,000 depending on experience Location: Leicester - Office basedHours: 37 hours per week, Flexible between 6:00am - 8:00pmAre you a skilled and creative Mechanical Design Engineer ready to take on new challenges and make a significant impact in the field of mechanical engineering We are seeking a Highley motivated and innovative individual to design, develop and improve our mechanical systems and products within the aerospace and automotive sectors. The Role:As an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be required to:

  • Produce design layouts for the purpose of quotations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • To be responsible for creating technical designs and specifications of tooling to meet with customer enquiries.
  • Create detailed mechanical designs and specifications using 2D and 3D CAD Autodesk Inventor.
  • Provide help and support to the Technical Department with root cause analysis of technical issues.
  • Support the production department with technical queries.
The Person:To be considered for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer it is expected that you will have:
  • A minimum of 1 years experience in an engineering design role using 2D and 3D CAD software, ideally Autodesk inventor.
  • The ability to read and understand Technical/Architectural drawings.
  • A minimum qualification of HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering A high attention to detail.
  • To have experience working in a precision engineering environment, with knowledge of material selection, manufacturing process and tolerance analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
