Job Description

The university is a vibrant, multicultural hub of learning, creativity and innovation that never surrenders to convention.Faculty / DirectorateThe Directorate offers full-service marketing and communications support to the university, comprising brand and creative development; design and print services; corporate and student recruitment marketing campaigns; CRM and conversion campaigns; facultymarketing and recruitment; reputation management; media relations and public affairs; internal and external communications engagement; events; admissions, schools and colleges engagement; widening participation; enquiry management and follow up; web and digitaldevelopment and market insight.RoleThe Business Partnering team is a newly created service and we are looking for four Business Partners who will play a crucial role in ensuring the directorate supports the faculties in delivering their business requirements and objectives. As a strategicpartner, you will be a key member of both the faculty and directorate’s wider leadership teams, providing management and oversight of the marketing and student recruitment strategy.You will support the faculty in meeting its targets, as well as enhancing its reputation and profile, by leading on the faculty’s student recruitment, marketing and communication plans and activities. Through excellent collaboration, partnership and stakeholdermanagement, you will understand their diverse range of business needs, ensuring appropriate solutions, resources and skills are deployed to deliver successful outcomes, and meet agreed objectives.You will directly line manage a small team who will focus on supporting the faculty across the full portfolio of its marketing and recruitment needs, as well as working as part of a wider partnering team to ensure a one team ethos in delivering a highlyefficient and effective service across the institution.You will ensure the work of the teams aligns with DMU’s strategic objectives outlined in The Empowering University Strategy and provide leadership that inspires creativity and innovation within the team, driving performance excellence and staying ahead ofindustry trends to maintain our competitive advantage.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of developing and managing effective teams to provide an outstanding service. It is essential that you are able to work collaboratively and possess the ability to successfullydevelop and manage positive stakeholder relationships, including the ability to influence and negotiate, as required.You must have extensive experience in scoping and delivering marketing/student recruitment, communications and events strategies and solutions. You will need to be comfortable with utilising data and insight to inform decision making and must also be ableto demonstrate excellent project management skills, to deliver successful outcomes.Educated to degree level or equivalent, you should have a strong awareness of the Higher Education sector and a good understanding of the strategic picture relating to student recruitment, although we also welcome candidates from outside the university sector.You will be innovative, original and creative in thinking with the ability to analyse and prioritise user requirements and stakeholder needs.Join us at DMU, and play a pivotal role in shaping our ambitious plans to deliver on The Empowering University Strategy.Please note there is a 2 stage interview process with interviews to take place on the below dates:1st interview week commencing 22nd April2nd interview week commencing 29th April.
