Job Description

Machine Operator (CNC)This CNC Router Programmer / Setter / Operator role will programme, set and operate our 3 and 5 Axis ranges of CNC routers, so customer orders can be machined to exact design specifications and quality standards.Machine Operator Responsibilities:• Carry out safety checks, calibrate the CNC machine, read handovers and works orders.• Ensure that all stock requisition notes are checked & signed prior to cutting/machining.• Read and understand CAD drawings, then programme, set and operate our CNC Router machines.• Optimize tool speeds and feeds creating efficient cycle times and minimising waste.• Inspect and verify parts by using precision measuring gages.• Ensure works orders are signed at first off and completion stages.• Comply with all daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance routines for the CNC Router machine.• Maintain a safe and organised working environment by following company procedures and wear appropriate PPE equipment.Machine Operator Requirements:• You will ideally have upwards of 2 years’ experience in programming, setting and operating any CNC machine.• Must have the ability to understand engineering drawings.• Adhere to Health & Safety standards.• Strive for 100% accuracy and customer satisfaction.• Excellent team player.• Maintain a positive working attitude.• Strong problem solver who will only offer positive solutions.• Milling background (not essential but preferable).• 5-Axis machining knowledge (not essential but preferable).• Served a recognised apprenticeship i.e., Mechanical/Production Engineering or Woodworking (City & Guilds or BTEC (ONC) Level but not essential).It would be highly desirable that you are also proficient in any recognised CAD/CAM package within the present engineering markets.
