Job Description

  1. Morningstar Direct: Implement and embed
  2. Develop automated architecture and processes for:
    1. Monthly quantitative fund reviews
    2. Monthly quantitative fund peer comparison reviews
    3. Annual quantitative and qualitative reviews (Due diligence)
    4. Analysis of the Funds Matrix verses peers and market
    5. Fund and portfolio reporting - periodic and ad-hoc
  3. Fund Research - design, build, deliver and embed stable and a sustainable research processes and product infrastructure. Design and implement a fund search and selection methodology to populate the Fund Matrix
  4. Training: develop junior fund analyst knowledge and capability. Coaching decision making in the context of fund analysis and selection
BAU
  1. Maintenance of fund matrix and required research outputs, ensuring adequate coverage for advisory/discretionary businesses to invest through the market cycle, including active, passive and ESG options
  2. Responsible for ongoing management of AIs the fund matrix and monitoring of fund selection
  3. Portfolio construction and fund blending to generate optimal sleeves
  4. Investment writing: production of fund and portfolio commentary for use in due diligence, product documentation and client facing documents.
  5. Devise proactive and original fund analysis and research that will be marketed to AIR clients and pitched to Portfolio Managers
  6. Respond to investment technical queries
  7. Ongoing development of investment systems. iterative development of systems stability, security of systems
  8. A keen focus on delivering quality and operational efficiency across all research systems and processes
  9. Development of capacity and capability of research team
  10. Up-skill and educate all members around quantitative fund analysis and fundamental fund analysis
