Job Description

We have a current opportunity for a Hospital based IDVA on an interim position for 6 months, covering maternity leave. The position will be based cross the Leicestershire area, are car driver isnt a necessity but is highly desired. For further informationabout this position please apply.Based across three hospitals in the Leicestershire area the aim of the role is to provide immediate high quality support to people experiencing domestic abuse and other gender based violence and to participate in multi-agency work including MARAC participation.The Role of a Hospital Based IDVA (HIDVA):To provide practical and emotional support to victims of domestic abuse and other gender based violence. This includes supporting and signposting Trust staff who are victims of abuse.Personal Specification

  • Excellent knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse and other gender based violence on survivors and theirchildren
  • Experience of providing emotional and practical support to survivors of domestic abuse and other gender based violence
  • Experience of risk assessing, safety and support planning for the survivors of domestic and other gender based violence
  • Knowledge and experience of participating in the MARAC process
  • Knowledge and ability to advise competently on a range of criminal and civil law options available to the Service Users
  • Working knowledge of the relevant housing law and welfare benefits that apply to survivors and their children =
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately
  • Experience of promoting and developing service user involvement/co-production
Requirements of a Hospital Based IDVA (HIDVA)
  • Proven track record working within Domestic Abuse
  • DBS issued within the last 12 months or on the update service
  • IDVA Qualification is highly desired
  • Car driver isnt needed but desirable
  • Available to start work ASAP
