Job Description

We are seeking a very hands on Finance Manager or Senior Management Accountant to join an established SME business that manufactures for well-known high-street brands.The successful applicant will be involved in producing accurate financial and management accounts as well as overseeing the day-to-day management of the finance function including a small finance team. The objective of this role will be to ensure the financialsuccess of the organisation through accurate and timely financial reporting and the development of well-managed processes to enable the advancement of the business.Salary and benefits:

  • £50,000 - £55,000
  • 21 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
  • Statutory pension
  • Hybrid working - 3 days office / 2 days at home after training period
  • Monday to Thursday - 8.30am - 5pm Fri: 30am - 4pm (1 hour lunch)
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Day-to-day management of the finance function
  • Preparation of timely monthly management accounts (accruals, prepayments, depreciation, P&L, balance sheet)
  • Creation and delivery of budgets and forecasts / reforecasting in collaboration with the SMT
  • Day to day financial transactions - oversee all cash flow movements including payments / bank reconciliations
  • Completion of Letters of Credit
  • Debtor and creditor management and highlighting of risks
  • Management of the payroll process; PAYE and completion of payroll journals and submission of information to HMRC
  • VAT returns
  • Liaise with accountants to ensure all information is presented when requested, as well as ensuring all external information is prepared
  • Liaison with Auditors
  • Process and system improvements to drive efficiency whist maintaining customer service across the business
Skills and experience required:
  • CIMA Qualified / Part-Qualified - QBE applicants with relevant experience will be considered
  • Experience of working within manufacturing desirable
  • Knowledge of accountancy software with Xero desirable. Strong knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables / VLOOKUPs)
  • Experience of working within a small finance team or a standalone FM role
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and an interest in seeing the role and business develop
  • Confident in leading, challenging and influencing both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
  • Ability to highlight commercial opportunities and risk
