Job Description

Finance ManagerLocation: LeicesterSalary: £35,000-£40,000 pro rata DOEHours: Reduced hours, 30 hours a weekPermanent VacancyAre you seeking reduced hours Do you like working for a SME business Do you have experience in producing management accounts/reports If so, this could be the role for you.Flowers Associates are currently working exclusively with a SME business located in Leicester who due to growth are seeking a Finance Manager on a part time basis. The company have a combined annual turnover of £10.5 million and are ever growing with additionalpartnering businesses.The Role:To assist the Finance Director with the operational financial duties, producing management accounts and reports as well as taking ownership of the operational finance duties.The successful Finance Manager will be responsible for but, not limited to the following duties:Financial, Accounting and Banking Daily bank postings including remittances received from customers and generation of prompt payment discount debit notes Preparation of the monthly bank reconciliations across 8 accounts Maintenance of the fixed asset, prepayment and accruals registers for all companies and generating the monthly entries to the accounting system Preparation of quarterly nominal ledger reconciliations for all companies Preparing and making weekly payments to suppliers for all companies Receiving and processing all imports including duty and VAT verification (inc agreement to C88 and C79 forms from HMRC) and payment Monthly review of all debit notes received to identify recurrent issues requiring resolution and ensuring each debit has been investigated internally and recharged to supplier if relevant Weekly review of the aged debt report ensuring statements are sent and reconciled and actions taken to recover outstanding debts promptly Monthly review of supplier statements reconciliations and follow up to ensure reconciling items are actioned promptly Providing duty rates to designers for costing purposes Ensuring export paperwork is properly prepared and obtaining proof of export Raising pro forma sales invoices and commercial sales invoices for exportsTax Preparation, review, and submission of the quarterly VAT returns for all companies Preparation of quarterly CT payment on accountWeekly Payroll Preparation Using clocking in data and working with 5 managers, preparation of the weekly payroll in tandem with our payroll agency (60 employees) Maintenance of accrued holiday calculation and holiday usage records Maintenance of unpaid time off log and absence records Maintenance of right to work log and re-establishing the right to work upon expiry Setting up new employee personnel files and ensuring these met our internal standards, establishing the new employee on our payroll system and recordsManagement and Statutory Accounting Recharging costs incurred and sales between each company Reconciling intercompany accounts and paying these down each month Preparation of the monthly management accounts and monthly sales analysis for all companies Reviewing the management accounts with each stakeholder, and following up on queries or explanations needed Principle points of contact for Accountants, Auditor, bank and HMRC Working with the Accountants to prepare the year end accounts for all companies Preparation of ONS data and completion of returns Providing information needed for the ethical auditors we receive 2/3 time a yearThe ideal Candidate:Will be an experienced accountant looking to work within a SME business, as number 2 to the Finance Director. The ideal Finance Manager will have experience of preparing and validating VAT returns, estimating quarterly CT payments, and producing managementaccounts and reports. It would be desirable for the candidate to have experience of using the software system Kash Flow and have exceptional Microsoft Excel skills. The ideal candidate will be commercially minded and ideally have experience of working withother group companies and profit centres.Additional Information: Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays pro rata Start, finish times and number of days are flexible to suit the candidate (30 hours a week) Workplace PensionRough Location Information: Roughly a 3-mile drive from Leicester City Centre Roughly a 3-mile drive from Thurmaston
