Job Description

Job ID: 22468Field Service - Gas Detection EngineerAlecto recruitment are currently representing a Industry leading Environmental Engineering company, now seeking an additional Service Engineer to join their team.Established over 30 years ago and with offices across the UK, my client are well placed to provide extensive UK support coverage offering complete turnkey solutions from design, to installation, maintenance and repair.Caterings for a number of applications from personal safety such as gas, leak & odour detection, through to environmental protection, this role will see the successful applicant working within a variety of industries including; oil & gas, energy from waste, power, water utility, petrochemical, commercial/industrial refrigeration and manufacturing.The Role:The role of Service engineer will involve the management of an allocated cluster of sites across the Midlands area, ensuring all elements of the service contract are provided in line with customer/contractual expectations and obligations.Duties will include:

  • Service, maintenance and repair of CEMS, Fixed Gas Detection and Emissions Monitoring Systems covered by the service contract.
  • Attending and positively contributing to all training required.
  • To forge quality customer relationships by liaising professionally with customers when on site, i.e. how problems have been resolved, action taken to avoid further problems, etc. Ensure customers are aware at all times of ETA on site, any potential delays, issues, etc.
  • Accurately record stock usage by ensuring that all parts/consumables used on site visits are recorded using the designated method.
  • Seek out new business opportunities - e.g. service and repair work from new and existing customers.
  • Proactively review your work schedule to make sure customer expectations are met.
  • Proactively request training as & when required.
  • Ensuring that strong communication lines are maintained with external and internal Customers.
  • A strong working relationship with the other service engineers is essential to ensure all contracts are delivered within their SLA.
  • Attendance of regional and full team service meetings.
    • The Candidate:The successful applicant will be an experienced and extremely well organized Field Service Engineer, with experience gained in an Industrial environment.Knowledge of Gas detection, CEMS, Temperature monitoring, or similar Instrumentation will be highly advantageous, but experience of field service work is essential.Requirements:
  • Extremely well organized and structured.
  • Excellent communicator on all levels both verbally and electronically.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Good eye for detail.
  • Degree, HND or Equivalent in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with Instrumentation in an Industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience of field service work essential.
    • Package:
  • £28,000 - £34,000 per annum
  • OTE £40k
  • Travel time paid
  • 22 days holiday rising to 25 days + bank holidays
  • Mobile, Van, Fuel Card
