Job Description

The Role :Field Service Engineer(Heavy plant)Location:You must live within a commutable distance to the Leicester depo; however the role is remote based covering the following regions: Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Nottinghamshire.Salary:Competitive Working hours:Monday to Friday 8am4.30 pmAre you an experienced heavy plant mechanic looking to work for a market leader in the construction product industry We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team covering the Midlands. You will be provided with a van and all relevanttooling, enabling you to visit our customers onsite to repair, service and maintain a range of heavy plant machinery. You will be the face of our company whilst out on the road, so our engineers pride themselves on not only having technical expertise, butalso great customer service skills. Your day to day responsibilities as a Field Service Engineer(Heavy plant) are outlined below:

  • Machine Plant Diagnostics.
  • Servicing and Repairs to a range of heavy plant machinery.
  • You will need to carry out repairs to the highest standard to provide a First Time Fix to the customer.
  • You will be competent in using a technical diagnosis laptop.
  • Use of PDA to input job information and data.
  • Present a professional image at all times.
  • Carry out all work practices in line with company health and safety policy.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations whilst maintaining profitability
What benefits will I get as a Field Service Engineer
  • 22 days paid holiday + bank holidays + 1 day for every 5 years completed service
  • Company sick pay scheme.
  • Overtime -first 4 hours at time and a half rate, over and above first 4 hours double time rate.
  • Call outinitial payment of £50.00 normal working week, £75.00 bank holiday working week and £100.00 Christmas period for being on call. If called out any hours worked would be first 4 hours at time and a half rate, over and above first 4 hours doubletime rate. Frequency of rota system varies from depot to depot and would be discussed during the interview process with the relevant Depot Manager.
  • You will be eligible to a £25 payment per week, when working away from home for a week on a 4 consecutive nights away basisnot applicable to any training courses you may be expected to attend.

What are we looking for in our Field Service Engineers
  • Minimum of an NVQ 2 in plant engineering, servicing, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the Heavy Plant industry.
  • Experience on hydraulic systems, open and closed loop, axles, transmissions manual and power shift, cam-bus electrical systems.
  • Professional customer facing skillset.
  • Excellent ability to work under pressure with flexibility to meet the needs of the customer.
  • Clean driving licence and good driving record.
  • Proof of right to work in the UK
