Events ManagerLeicester£30,000 p.a. with commission

The Company:ER Recruitment is excited to be working with a local organisation whose successful reputation exceeds far beyond their location. Their venue offers a large event space with plans to further expand. It is immersed in rich history and heritage with the capacityto cater to events come rain or shine. Our client is looking for an Events Manager to join the team, someone who has a keen eye for detail and is confident delivering events.Role & Responsibilities of the Events Manager:
  • Create an events calendar that meets all logistical and financial standards
  • Partner with the Commercial Director to secure a deal on each event that is in the companys best interest
  • Gather information to present feasible suggestions for each project to the Commercial Director
  • Write up a draft budget for proposed approval that outlines the profit and loss of each project
  • Negotiate costs to ensure all events meet agreed targets
  • Network with appropriate promoters and meet to plan events, assessing suitable options
  • Continuously review the budget plan for each event and forecast effectively to avoid any overruns
  • Scope out each project to determine resources, schedule and timescales, transportation plan, milestone deadlines and communication plan as required
  • Assess the viability and risk of events in advance, liaising with Health & Safety and the Ground Manager when conversing with promoters
  • Monitor and manage potential risks throughout each project and take/prepare corrective measures where required
  • Illustrate appropriate strategies to avoid risks and consider how to minimise any potential impact
  • Liaise with the Conference and Banqueting team to facilitate all hospitality requirements
  • Work with the Operations team to review and complete licensing documentation
  • Nurture both external and internal working relationships, ensuring professional and effective communication
  • Encourage and advocate diversity to promote equality in the workplace
About You as the Events Manager:
  • Minimum of two years experience in the events industry
  • Experience delivering large-scale events such as concerts, fireworks night, outdoor cinema etc.
  • IT competent and numerically literate
  • Proven track record in balancing P&L to achieve maximum profit on events delivered
  • Someone who is a creative thinker and proactive in generating new ideas
  • A good team player with excellent communication skills
  • Experience managing different teams that contribute to an event
  • Someone who can positively reflect to seek continuous improvement
  • A confident negotiator who is influential but reasonable
  • Delivers high-level customer service
