The university is a vibrant, multicultural hub of learning, creativity and innovation that never surrenders to convention.Faculty / DirectorateThe Estates & Facilities Directorate is large and diverse, employing about 300 people, ranging from plumbers, electricians, carpenters, cleaners, porters, leisure centre assistants to property management professionals, architects, project officers, CAD,space management, sustainability and energy and administrative personnel.RoleWe are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic administrator to provide event, admin and reception support to the DMU Venues Team. As well as looking after visitors to The Venue, your day will involve multiple administrative tasks associated with our bookingcalendar as well as being hands-on to proactively assist the team and event organisers as required.This is a unique opportunity to join a small but passionate team responsible for coordinating room hire at The Venue and across campus for a variety of events from conferences, dance shows, dinners, exhibitions and much more. The working hours for this postwill be on a shift rota (set 6 weeks in advance) between the hours of 9am - 10pm with the flexibility to work outside of these hours on some occasions to meet the demands of the business.Occasional weekend work may be required. Please note that the contractjob title for this post will be Receptionist/Administrative Assistant.Ideal Candidate You must have a good standard of general education to a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C, including English and Maths (or equivalent qualification/experience). You should have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, organise your workloadefficiently and react positively to changes in priorities. It is also essential that you are competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages and experience in social media marketing would be advantageous
