DevOps Engineer required for my client based near Leicester for a permanent role, salary £50-80K.Remote working: you will be able to work remotely 3-4 days per week, with the remaining 1-2 days in the officeDuties and Key responsibilities:• Support business critical systems. Investigate and fix incidents and problems. • Maintain and evolve DevOps monitoring and alerting capabilities - includes infrastructure performance as well as key business metrics.• Utilise logging tools to investigate operational issues, configure dashboards and alerts.• Work closely with developers to ensure platforms are kept secure.• Engage with business analysts, developers and testers to ensure all code is safely released into production, this covers new functionality as well as security patching.• Support the development of new products, transitioning them into live production use.• Coordinate and manage software releases in to testing, staging & Production environments. Includes support for out of hours production deployments as required.• Automate repetitive tasks, developing innovative solutions for the team and wider business.• Work with test engineer to ensure CI/CD deployments successfully pass automated testing.Key Skills:• Expertise in administering log data management technologies. Loggly preferred but alternatives desirable eg. Splunk, Fluentd, ElasticSearch/ELK• Effective communication skills with an ability to collaborate and work as a team player• Ability to understand complex systems and issues and communicate these to both technical and non-technical people.• Good understanding of Agile Development practices• Good knowledge of GIT/Gitlab Tools• Experience maintaining and developing development and production Linux systems [Ubuntu]• Expertise of Percona and/or mainline Mysql• Good knowledge of IT Service Management principles• Good understanding of Information Security and related good practise• Proficient in a number of the following scripting languages and programming languages; PHP, Python, Perl, SQL, HTML• A good understanding of virtualisation orchestration especially cloudinit and/or Nutanix platforms.• Knowledge of basic TCP/IP protocols (TCP, UDP, IP, DNS, HTTP)• Demonstrable experience managing Production environments including AWS ancillaries.
