Job Description

As part of our ongoing commitment to modernisation and transformation, we are seeking a Desktop Services Analyst (Staff and Open Access) to join our technology team.Faculty / Directorate ITMS strive to enhance the experience of students and staff in learning, teaching, research and business operations. We provide guidance on the adoption of appropriate technologies, systems and services in a rapidly developing environment and help peopleto embrace technology as it becomes embedded within university life. Our services include a cross-campus communications infrastructure, desktop equipment for students in learning areas and for staff in work areas, collaboration tools, central business systems,audio-visual facilities to support teaching, virtual and managed learning environments. Our mission is to provide effective, efficient and economic IT and media services for the organisation to enable people to make the best opportunity of their time at DMU.RoleWithin the Desktop Services Team your primary responsibility will be to respond to Incidents and Requests raised by the University’s 3,500 strong workforce of staff and academics. As a Desktop Services analyst, you’ll be working as part of a team deliveringan effective Desktop support service to Staff and Students. Primarily you’ll be responsible for maintaining the Staff Desktop Estate as well as the Audio Visual and Open Access Areas, encompassing equipment distributed to all Support Staff and Academics. Youwill also be responsible for ensuring devices are compliant with the University’s standards for information systems, security and technology in line with the relevant legislation and audit requirements. As part of this role, you will assist with the deliveryof key projects and events such as Clearing, Summer Refresh and University Open Days.Ideal Candidate We are looking for an individual with developed customer service experience and a good technical IT knowledge to enable the efficient support of desktop PCs, laptops, printing, Microsoft Office applications, wireless devices and any Audio-Visual supportskills would be an advantage. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage relationships at all levels of the University. You must have a proven record of delivering quality solutions to customers and users througha collaborative approach. You must be a strong team player who can analyse and prioritise their own workload and meet challenging deadlines. You will be expected to be flexible and react quickly to changing priorities whilst maintaining a high level of customerservice.
