Design Engineer Leicester £30000 - £35000pa Based in Leicester, my client specialises in sheet metal fabrication and assisting in the design for manufacture of parts and components They are proud of their manufacturing expertise across product design and development, component fabrication and finishing and assembly maintaining high quality standards, delivery performance and cost effective manufacture.Duties Include:Reviewing customer drawings for feasibilityLiaising with customers to modify drawings to suit manufacturing processesAiding customers with product designConverting drawings to 2D blanksConverting models to 2D blanksProduce 2D & 3D drawings of components for in house use.Preparing CNC laser and punch programs for quoting and manufacturingFixture design and improvement for in house use, welding, machining etc.Brake press tooling design for in house use.3D software - Solid Works2D software - Trutops for use with Trumpf laser and brake pressDevelop knowledge of brake press, welding & other manufacturing processes.Liaising with quality department on new parts to meet PPAP requirementsLiaising with production departments to meet new part development requirements.Investigate tooling improvements with suppliers & identify tools for future projects.
