An opportunity has become available for a CNC Router Programmer/Setter/Operator to set and operate our 5 Axis range of CNC routers, so customer orders can be machined to exact design specifications and quality standards.CNC Router Programmer / Setter / Operator Responsibilities:• At the start of a shift carry out safety checks, calibrate the CNC machine, read handovers and works orders.• Ensure that all stock requisition notes are checked & signed prior to cutting/machining.• Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and production specifications.• Programming, setting and operating CNC Router machines using online and offline CAD/CAM package with data taken from technical drawings.• Programme and draw using Alpha Cam software.• To be proficient in CAD/CAM packages, and have the ability to convert files from DXF, DWG, IGS and STP to produce drawings from customer descriptions/sketches.• Nest parts into the material to minimise wastage.• Suggest and optimize tool speeds and feeds to maintain high manufacturing demands while holding the required tolerances and obtain maximum tool life.• Inspect and verify parts by using precision gages.• Tap and manually put inset holes on machined parts.• To meet production quality and output levels and make sure they are optimised at all times.• To comply with all daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance routines for the CNC Router machine.• Maintain a safe and organised working environment by following company procedures and wear appropriate PPE equipment.CNC Router Programmer / Setter / Operator Requirements:• A very good understanding of CAD/CAM, preferably Alpha Cam.• Must have two years’ experience of setting and operating a 5 Axis CNC machine.• Knowledge of solid works would be highly advantageous.About Oadby Plastics Ltd:Oadby Plastics Ltd are the ‘UK’s leading independent plastics supplier’ with 50 years of experience in the manufacturing and distribution industry.
