Job Description

CNC Lathe Programmer required My client based in Leicester is a manufacturer of high quality machined and fabricated products, delivered on time, to certain specifications. They are looking for a CNC lathe programmer with an engineering background who can be responsible for interpretingproject blueprints, designing programs and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program. The Leicester based company are looking for someone who has experience of working in the engineering and manufacturing environment.ShiftsMon - Thur 07:30 - 16:30Fri 07:30 - 12:30Must be OK with travelling to the Leicester area for these start times.Pay rateBetween £27,000 and £28,000 per annumJob responsibilities

  • Part program and set twin pallet mills with lathes
  • Do machine pre checks
  • Load unload tools, fixtures
  • Set operate mills/lathes together
  • Set 3-5 axis milling centres/6-24" lathes to programs and notes
  • Basic engineering knowledge
  • Strong Skills to adjust to job orders with tools
  • Assist fabricators/millers, inspectors, follow breakdowns
  • Attention to detail
  • Manual handling of machinery
  • CNC lathe programming knowledge
Qualifications
  • Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
  • Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Knowledge of metal properties and other material
  • Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
