Job Description

Service Care Solutions have a Vacancy for a Chef to provide a catering service to service users on behalf of a local authority with the role based at a Hostel based in Leicester.We are seeking a candidate who is able to work on a Rota and is able to be flexible in the delivery of food.You will be able to also recognise discrimination in its many forms and be willing to put the Councils Equality Policies to practice.Your key duties will include:

  1. To maintain food hygiene and safety requirements Including daily audits of standards.
  2. To comply with the approved menu and enhance wherever cost effective.
  3. To provide nourishing, cost effective and attractive meals.
  4. To meet special dietary requirements, i.e. vegetarian and food intolerances.
  5. To comply with portion control and minimise waste.
  6. To provide snacks and meals on time.
  7. To contribute to a welcoming and supportive and clean environment.
  8. To clean dining and kitchen areas after the preparation and serving of food.
  9. To meet ethnic minority and medical dietary requirements, when practical.
As a Chef, you will be able to hold the following skills/qualifications:
  1. A Basic Food Safety Qualification.
  2. Previous experience in Residencial catering/cafeteria setting.
  3. Understanding of Special Dietary requirements.
  4. Customer focused
  5. Ability to take responsibility for meals for over 45 people.
This is a role working on a rota pattern working on a 2-week rota working Monday through to Friday & Monday through to Wednesday & Saturday and Sunday.For more details on this role, and to apply, please contact Prakash by emailing or call .
