Job Description

We have a current opportunity for a BAME IDVA on a temporary basis. The position will be based in Leicester, ideally the right candidate will be a car driver but is not necessary, will just need to be able to commute over the area. For further informationabout this position please apply.Responsibility of a BAME IDVA

  • Provide 1:1 crisis intervention to women and girls who are referred to the service as a result of experiencing domestic abuse and harmful practices
  • Will be working on a case load of up to 20 - case management is key for this role
  • Risk management and safety planning to ensure an effective service is being run
  • Helping women and girls overcome their cultural barriers that have been forced upon them
  • Making sure support is documented and followed up on
Requirements of a BAME IDVA
  • Ideal candidate will speak another language in addition to English
  • Proven track record of working within a domestic violence organisation
  • Able to work with a caseload
  • Prepared to work weekends if required / shift work
  • DBS issued within the last 12 months or on the update service - cleared for both Children and Adults
