Job Description

Join our community.You will be a key member of the team responsible for the development of strategic solutions for Data, Controls & Process Improvement supporting Everyday Banking Analytics across all levels of the organisation, providing a consistent flow of strategic & tacticaldata across Directorates.   • Building and supporting robust & efficient data processes, importing data from numerous sources (Internal & External), ensuring relevant controls are in place
  • Supporting the implementation of the Data Strategy for Everyday Banking Analytics both tactical & strategic, working closely with SanTech, the wider Chief Data Office and a variety of teams and stakeholders across the organisation
  • Generating ideas, building models and making recommendations to assist and support senior management, both within and external to the department in achievement of Group objectives
  • Supporting analytics and reporting across Retail & Business Banking (including Branch, RCC, Digital, Wealth, Mortgage Telephony and Santander Business)
  • Developing data driven improvements to customer journeys, colleague experience and commercial performance, as part of an innovation culture
  • Supporting wider Chief Data Office initiatives; shaping Big Data strategy, operating model and commercial application, as well as supporting the Business Intelligence tool strategy and implementation
What youll bring.
  • A detailed understanding of querying and manipulating data using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Knowledge of using SAS in a business environment
It would also be nice for you to have.
  • Experience of process automation; building scheduled data processes using proprietary applications e.g. SSIS, SAS, SQL Server (or other relational database management system)
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with proven past experience in an analytical or data function
  • Experience of building/maintaining Python data projects using industry standard packages would be advantageous (Pandas, PySpark, NumPy, SQLAlchemy)
What else you need to know.The successful candidate will work from home, with travel to our Leicester (Carlton Park) office currently expected around twice per month. Exact working patterns are still taking shape following the pandemic, so some flexibility to the above may be needed.
