Job Description

Are you looking to kickstart your career in Civil Engineering / RailTrainee Structural Examiner – North-Eastern RegionThe Civils and Infrastructure Team at Ford and Stanley are proud to be working in partnership with Network Rail, to assist in the growth of their Structural Examination and Assessments Team.If successful in your application, you will be working within a team that plays a crucial role in keeping our railway infrastructure safe and functioning. Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out visual structural investigations and inspection works on a variety of structures (concrete/steel/brick), including bridges, gantries, culverts and trackside buildings.
  • Perform risk assessments and writeups.
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness.
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently without supervision/
  • Write reports using several methods, including handwritten reports, and a tablet-based asset management system.
Skills, experience, and qualifications
  • BSc Civil Engineering / Vocational Equivalent OR previous construction/structural examination experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and a background that demonstrates the capacity to learn in a classroom environment.
  • Must be willing to work occasional nights/weekends (essential)
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
  • STE4 Qualification (desirable).
  • Have good report writing skills and be computer literate (essential).
  • COSS or SSSTS (desirable).
  • Hold a valid PTS/Sentinel Card (desirable).
