Job Description

Primary DetailsTime Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee Third Party Risk Management LeadLeeds or Remote-based The OpportunityQBE European Operations is looking to recruit a Third Party Risk Management Lead to join our Operational Risk Function within Operations. This role will be key in providing EOs assurance and oversight of its third party risk management framework, supporting teams managing third parties across our business to meet internal and external requirements, both regulatory and operational. Keen to drive continuous improvement in our approach, you will have an eye for detail but also have the ability to see the big picture to find solutions to managing this complex area of risk in ways that support the business in their delivery of strategic priorities. You will enjoy getting to know how our business operates and finding effective and pragmatic solutions to risk management. You will provide an interface between business teams, Group Functions and Line 1 and 2 risk SMEs to help our people #DoTheRightThing. Your new roleSupport the Head of Outsourcing & Third Party Risk Management to maintain the Divisional Frameworks for third party risk and outsourcing, to ensure that they remain compliant with relevant legislation (e.g., Solvency II and Lloyds Minimum Standards), Grouprequirements and operational needs. Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support oversight monitoring of in scope business areas in order to embed and maintain compliant and up-to-date procedures, practices, controls and documentation that support these frameworks;
  • Support change projects in identifying and responding to impacts and hold project teams to account for ensuring change maintains adherence to the frameworks;
  • Promote best practice standards and facilitate problem solving through providing training, advice, guidance and assurance reviews;
  • Deliver annual deep-dive assurance planning and activity;
  • Complete regulatory and policy gap analysis and translate into action plans;
  • Monitor and report to senior leadership on the status of compliance for third party risk and outsourcing;
  • Work with key stakeholders across our business to ensure our third party risk is aligned to the Divisions operational risk appetite;
  • Support Operations in the development and delivery of its ESG strategy including the Net Zero Roadmap;
  • Undertake other activities to support the wider functional goal to mitigate operational risk across the Division as opportunities arise.
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience:
  • Able to communicate effectively, concisely and appropriately at all levels;
  • Ability to build and maintain working business relationships at all levels;
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to achieve deadlines and work both independently and as part of a successful team;
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a complex environment;
  • Ability to understand, respect and take account of the legitimate business drivers that influence stakeholder behaviour and priorities and understand the implications;
  • Ability to bring shape to ambiguous or poorly defined situations;
  • High quality accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Proficient user of MS Office Suite, ideally including MS Visio & Business Objects (or similar)
