Job Description

Senior Packaging Designer Location- LeedsSalary-DOEWill consider candidates out of the area who are able to travel to Leeds on occasions Are you a passionate, creative and experienced packaging designer..A leading branding and design agency are looking for an exceptional Senior Packaging Designer to join their team due to recent growth! Having been established for over 50 years, they have an extensive client list which includes very well-know, worldwide branded clients. They are now searching for a packaging design specialist from a food packaging background.Overview- You will have a strong creative point of view, and able to build the authority and experience to present creative concepts with confidence and credibility, within a compelling business rationale. You will be working as part of a team with the flexibility to work across more than one project team and across several clients simultaneously.

  • Work on a number of different client and internal jobs at any
  • Together with your Creative Director and client services leads, actively participate at the briefing stages to develop accurate interpretations of the client
  • Establish design direction and provide ongoing guidance and encouragement on all those jobs you are actively involved with to both your fellow team members and the production
  • Ensure the creation of your design work/files meet the criteria set
  • When freelancers are working with you on your projects, please make sure they adhere to the processes.
  • Be prepared to go above and beyond to stretch your own creative
  • Think of all your projects as potential award winners!
  • Be able to take on board creation direction
  • Be customer focused
  • Mentoring other junior members
    • Requirements-
  • Previous and proven packaging design experience 6 years +
  • Experience designing for the food packaging market
  • Conceptual design is key, not just "roll out"
  • Experience working in the role and environment
  • Use to working in a fast paced environment
  • Used to developing brands as well as working with brand guidelines and established brand equity
  • Full and strong use of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to work independently but also as part of a team
  • Design delivery- Initial concept through to final delivery
  • Good understanding of print process
  • Able to spec things for print, good knowledge of reading and setting artwork files
  • Independent project management skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Able to mentor and support junior team members
  • Digital experience would beneficial
    • Portfolio- A portfolio will be required, this must include clear packaging design examples.
  • Multiple examples of FMCG packaging design
  • Ideally a mix of retailer and Brand examples
  • Branding (logo design, brandmarks) POS, Campaigns
  • Examples of illustrations/photography
  • Digital experience would be a benefit
