Job AdvertYou will join our Customer Decision Science and Analytics team to lead a newly formed Insight Consulting team. You will lead on advanced analytics solutions aligned to our customer plan, enabling us to bring data to life and to deliver measurable ROI throughthe commercial application of data analytics to customer and business problems.A key part of the role will involve stakeholders across Strategy, Commercial, Ecommerce, Marketing, Customer, Supply Chain and Technology, your work will bring our customer strategy to life, leading and managing a team to deliver results. This role is based at Asda House, Leeds with the flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week.Your roleYou will work as part of Asdas Decision Science and Analytics team. As a Senior Manager of Insight Consulting, you will:

• Look after the Insight Consulting work within the department, joining the Decision Science and Analytics Leadership Team
• Focus on evangelising data analytics thinking and on supporting colleagues in understanding where the biggest opportunities are for the application of data analytics
• Own development and delivery of the insight consulting strategy, aligned to the customer plan and Asda strategy
• Effectively prioritise the efforts of the team to drive the optimal short and long term impact
• Accelerate transformation from descriptive to predictive analytics. Proactively develop use cases for advanced analytics to provide value and guide customer and digital strategies.
• Advance data democratization via strategic insight delivery and dashboard developments, building data solutions to expedite decision making.
• Provide thought leadership on data can help make better business decisions for our customers and us
• Collaborate closely with Asda stakeholders to be a trusted analytics partner and subject matter expert who leads the data-insight journey and analytics capabilities
• Provide regular and timely performance reporting and analysis to a wide range of stakeholders
• Conduct deep-dives and incremental analysis into performance to generate actionable insights
• Create & implement KPIs and metrics for performance evaluation
• Manage and develop a high-performing and motivated AI Build team, with direct line management of:
  • Business Performance & Measurement
  • Customer Plan Analytics
  • Marketing Effectiveness & Planning
• Work across a range of projects that could include:
  • Test and Trial design and evaluation
  • Customer and store segmentation strategies
  • Behavioural predictions
  • Competitor and market analysis
  • Analytics support for strategic change programmes
• Ensure a Cloud First approach to our work
• Hire, support and coach new team members. Ensuring they are thriving in their role within the team.
• Support the careers of our analysts and data scientists through pro-active coaching, mentoring and regular 1-2-1s
• Build strong relationships with other data, data science and analytics teams within Asda to learn, share and benefit from a wider data community
• Keep up-to-date with the latest trends, techniques and methodologies and drive innovation with the team

• Extensive experience working in data and analytics, with at least 3 years of experience managing one or more teams

• Proven track record of leading motivated Analytics and/or Data Science teams
• Passionate about innovative data analytics and data science applications to drive positive outcomes for our customers and business
• Innate ability to cut through complexity and clutter to find the core problem and efficient deliver the best solution
• Strong analytical skills, experience of statistical analytics and data visualisation, and strength in deriving actionable insights from data
• High awareness of data and analytics technology, passion for learning, experimenting with new ways of doing things and continuous improvement
• Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to present clear information in a range of ways.
• Proven influencing skills, the ability to tell a convincing story internally and externally
• Self-motivated, curious, and positive mindset
• High degree of expertise in applying analytics and/or data science to customer facing outcomes, ideally in a high-volume retail / ecommerce environment
• Experience in Business Intelligence & Reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
• Knowledge of modern analytics and data science platform tooling and processes (e.g. Python, SQL, Hive)
• Experience with Cloud services (ideally Azure and GCP) for Analysts and Data Scientists

• Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, listen, reflect and influence
• Proactive problem solver comfortable with ambiguity

• Experience working with Data Engineering teams to efficiently productionise end to end processes

• Naturally curious; passionate about marketing, data and technology; a creative thinker who develops their own ideas and hypotheses
• Experience of Agile delivery
• Educated to degree level, ideally in a relevant STEM discipline

It would be great if you also had

• Experience in helping evolve a culture of data in a company
• Project management experience with the ability to manage and prioritise complex work projects concurrently
• Experience working with consumer-level, product and supply chain data
