These teams will oversee the delivery of the strategy for our customersthis is how Asda becomes a growth business again. Reporting into one of thetwo new Senior Director, Asda Proposition roles, you will be central to all of this work; from translating the business strategy into the customer offer, through coming up with amazing ideas for products, promotions and campaigns, all the way to how its actuallydelivered in stores and online. You will be the beating heart of our Customer transformation.Youll get amazing opportunities to galvanise teams around you, from across the Customer function and beyond. Youll benefit from senior exposure, presenting your teams ideas in senior forums such as the Customer Planning Group. Youll learn how to bringtogether insights into compelling propositions, and how to make sure that together these add up to a winning offer compared to our competitors.Youll be measured by how popular Asda is for the customer proposition areas that youre working on. For example, if youre aligned to the value element of the proposition, then your key performance indicator might be our Value Perception score; whereaswhen youre working on the convenience element, you could be measured by Net Promoter Score for our small store formats.These roles will be hugely competitive. Youll need a rare blend of innovation and creativity, critical thinking, analytical capability, the ability to brief and understand research and other forms of testing, and above all be able to seamlessly move betweenthe big picture and being all the way down in the detail. The ideal candidate will embrace change, be proactive in seeking opportunities, and accept ambiguity. You wont be put off by the occasional setbackrecognising that the propositions we do successfullylaunch will be absolutely central to Asda getting back to growth.Key Responsibilities

• Come up with ideas for the best ways to achieve our customer goals (e.g. attracting, retaining and growing customers), and also seek ideas from across the Customer team and around the business
• Prioritise the best ideas and put them forward for rapid research or testingcome up with the specific hypotheses to be tested and ideas for how they could be
• Bring together successful ideas into proposed proposition plans, both for major events (e.g. Christmas) and to the annual calendar (e.g. a total plan for Q1)
• Flesh out these ideas into proposition briefs, tailoring the content and detail to a prescribed level depending on strategic significance and scale (e.g. Gold, Silver, Bronze)
• Partner with teams, across and beyond Customer, to bring these briefs to life and ensure execution is always to the brieffrom creative and media, all the way through to legal
• Provide oversight and continuity for operational executionidentify risks and ensure they get solved
• Oversee and draw the key insights from campaign performance analysisidentify learnings and apply them to improve performance
• Become an expert in at least 1 strategic theme that you will have assigned to you for a period of time (e.g. convenience)

You will be one of several Senior Managers, Asda Proposition, each with alignment to different strategic themes that are critical in delivering the overall customer offer. We envisage that each of the Senior Managers will be supported by one direct report,as well as together directing the work of several specialist resources also sitting as part of the new Asda Proposition teams.About YouYou are multi-skilled and keen to excel in all aspects of your role as well as learn how to do new things. Excellent and rigorous logic, good instincts, and a can-do attitude are more important than any formal qualifications. You will be best suited to thisrole if you can:

• Competently analyse data, draw out key findings and distil the most important points for senior stakeholders
• Summarise ideas into succinct and clear briefs for a variety of recipients / audiences
• Present effectively and concisely, across different media, and both verbally and in writing
• Create and innovate for customersdeep understanding and passion for grocery retail will help
• Effectively organise peoples work and provide structure around activities
• Corral different teams to work effectively together
• Understand and apply commercial targetsput appropriate measures in place to track performance

This enables you to choose where youll be the most effective on any given day and for any given activity, providing the mix of working from home and in an office environment that works best for you and your team.But please remember that this role is Leeds-based, and will involve a large number of meetings and workshops that youll be expected to attend in personits not possible to do this role remotely.
