NEW COVENANT SENIOR ASSOCIATE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK FOR LEADING PENSION COMPANY AT THEIR LEEDS LOCATIONAre you ACA/ACCA/FIA or CFA Qualified with a good understanding of the UK pensions industryDo you have experienced relating to the employer covenant including the preparation and delivery of covenant assessments and adviceIn the market for a new unique role in the Leeds area with a highly professional and well established financial services organisationOur client is a specialist FTSE listed financial services company looking for a Senior Associate Covenant Consultant to work at their modern offices in Leeds, an exciting opportunity to join our client’s growing employer covenant team supporting their wider pension’s advisory offering. You will work alongside our clients established team of specialists and you will be integral to accelerating the growth of the business team both in terms of seeking out fresh opportunities and deliver a high quality service.Our client are looking for a Covenant Analyst at a Senior Associate level, a role that requires excellent analytic and communication skills, along with a drive to learn about and understand the financial health of businesses. The role is in the Covenant Advisory Team a specialist team which provides advice to both trustees of defined benefit pension schemes and the companies which sponsor them regarding all aspects of the employer covenant.Assessment of the employer covenant, the financial health of the sponsoring company is becoming ever more vital so trustees of schemes need to fully understand the financial strength of the employer(s) standing behind the pension scheme, as well as any key risks associated with their business and it is this function that the specialist covenant team carry out for our client and a summary of duties appear below:-Covenant assessments, in-depth reviews, bespoke analysis and modelling/ high level desktop assessments.Advise trustees on setting up employer covenant monitoring conventions and frameworks, agreeing these with the employer, and providing regular updates on the covenant to the trustees.Gather information from relevant sources (including requesting information from companies and obtaining publicly available information) as part of employer covenant projects.Use various data sources to obtain relevant information, such as DataStream, Companies House, or equivalent.Analyse financial statements of companies and other information received to assess the current financial position of employer(s), both on a qualitative and quantitative basis.Prepare draft reports and / or presentations of varying degrees of detail, setting out the results of the employer covenant analysis.Research various industries, sectors or companies, as required for client works and/or business development.Assist with the preparation of briefing notes and other literature regarding the latest legislative developments and case studies relating to the employer covenant.Assist with the preparation of internal training courses regarding the employer covenant.Assist with the preparation of presentations regarding various topics relating to the employer covenant, to be presented externally for marketing purposes.Assisting with tenders to win new business.In summary this role will specifically include analysis of company accounts and financial statements, identify key trends, strengths and weaknesses and will require you to use your technical skills to collect and collate the relevant data and analyse them in a time efficient manner. You will prepare the required summary tables and charts, and draft the report incorporating these along with the relevant explanations and commentaryInterestedIf you hold an accountancy qualification and have experience in the UK pension industry then we would be extremely pleased to hear from you. Covenant experience is a must and management experience would be an advantage for this role as you will be supporting/mentoring more junior members of the team. In addition you will have experience of advisory, audit, accountancy as well as the preparation and delivery of covenant assessments and advice gained within a range of schemes.
