Job Description

An excellent Principal Geotechnical Engineer position has come available in the Leeds area for a Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer looking to advance their career within the building and infrastructure sector.You will be joining an award winning nationwide multi-disciplinary consultancy heading up the Geotechnical division across the North and having scope to help build and develop the division across the business.Your responsibilities as a Principal Geotechnical Engineer will consist of managing the technical and commercial output of the Geotechnical division across the North of the UK. It will be expected that you can lead the department on geotechnical advice,delivery, leadership, managerial as well as continue to retain and expand the commercial network.Principal Geotechnical Engineer Specification:

  • Ideally Civil Engineering background but will consider Geology education.
  • MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or Soil Mechanics etc.
  • Chartered MICE or CGeol.
  • Write/check geotechnical reports, specifications and designs.
  • Design & advice capability within foundations, piles, retaining walls, basements, slopes, remedial actions etc.
  • Operate and maintain geotechnical modelling software where appropriate.
  • Identify and progress evidenced solutions to geotechnical challenges encountered.
  • Leadership of project teams on consulting assignments including project management, budgeting and quality control for consulting assignments.
  • Develop and extend the technical capabilities of the geotechnical team.
