Job Description

Pre Litigated Credit Hire File HandlerOur credit hire team is the largest and longest-established in the UK, with over 200 colleagues, and acting for more Insurers & Broker clients than any other, but we don’t do stuffy and formal; we are down to earth and enjoy the delivery of legal excellence.We are incredibly proud of our reputation and of the work we do with our clients in defeating dishonest motor claims and developing strategies to identify and prevent new and emerging risks. We are looking for like-minded people who want to join us in thisexciting and important work, and who want to develop their career with us.You will predominately be handling your own case load of delegated authority claims which will include but not limited to credit hire cases, suspected credit hire fraud, liability investigations and bodily injury cases whilst assisting and helping to shapeour best in class strategy for our insurer clients.We are looking for all kinds of individuals that have a desire to progress and develop. Many of our leadership team and technicians started their careers at Keoghs which underlines thedevelopment commitment to all our people.Our culture is one of support, respect and recognition, so if you think you’re a good fit then we’d love to hear from you.Job PurposeTo pursue settlement of a pre-litigation credit hire file as soon as practically possible, ensuring Client Guidelines are adhered to. It is important that the job holder can quickly review files and formulate an initial Strategy, commence early telephone negotiationswith Credit Hire Organisations and liaise with Insurers where necessary.Key Accountabilities• Reviewing pre proceedings files, noting and abiding by Client Guidelines.• Formulating initial strategy.• Implementing the strategy agreed.• Undertaking telephone negotiations with Credit Hire Organisations.• Pursuing settlement as quickly as possible in line with current legal doctrine and case law.• Liaising with Insurers where necessary.• Ensuring actions’ are carried out as per Action Lists in Case Management System.• Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines.• To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & RegulationsWorking Hours35 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. This is a hybrid role working 1 day in the Bolton office and 4 days from home. Primary location for this role is our Leeds Office.Experience, Skills and Qualifications• Education - at least 3 GCSEs or equivalent are essential and a degree is preferable.• Ability to use own initiative.• Ability to plan and prioritise workloads.• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills.• Good telephone negotiation skills.• Ability to follow work processes and keep to Strategy.• Ability to recognise when sensitivity and tact are required.• Ability to make decisions and remain calm under pressure.• Good IT skills including Word, Outlook, and experience of a Case Management System preferred.• Experience of credit hire is essential and the applicant would be expected to have been working in an environment where they have been exposed to credit hire cases on a day to day basis for at least 12 months, with some knowledge of dealing with non ABI CHOs.What you can expect from us:A learning culture with employee development at the heart of the people development pathway, Excellent flexible benefits including annual leave entitlement and Healthcare Cash Plan as standard, Monday to Friday - 35 hours per week.
