We are specialists in delivering pipelines; design; marine; structural steel; tunnelling; fabrication; bridges and piling; and invest heavily in our substantial holding of plant; equipment and facilities.Job description:People AdvisorBased LeedsWe have a newly created role within our People Shared Service team for proactive and enthusiastic individual to join the team with a very clear remit. The primary responsibilities of the role will be to lead on employee relations advice for Group functions, support, co-ordinate and administer requests from exec-level colleagues in the business, and support on People function project activity.The role:

  • Deputise in absence of the People Shared Service Centre Manager
  • Co-ordinate and administer requests from and for Exec-level colleagues
  • Support and lead, from a Shared Service perspective, People Function project activity
  • Support with specialist areas, such as Reward, Recruitment and Engagement, where required
  • First point of contact for Line Managers in Group Functions for Employee Relations (ER) issues
  • Ensure that ER advice to Line Managers in Group Functions is in line with Company values, policies and procedures, HR best practice and prevailing legislative and regulatory requirements, to minimise the risk to the Company
  • Up-skill Line Managers in Group functions by coaching them through relevant people processes
  • Analyse trends and metrics to provide business insight to inform decisions
  • Supervise HR Apprentices, to provide consistency and support
  • Draft and maintain templates and documents in line with changes to policy and process (working with Key Stakeholders)
  • Your experience:
  • CIPD qualified to Level 5 (or equivalent experience)
  • Employee Relations experience in a similar sized organisation
  • Experience of working as part of an HR Shared Service environment would be desirable
  • Project management methodology knowledge desirable
  • Flexible, and adaptable to change
  • Knowledge of the wider organisation and how it functions within the external environment
  • Strong experience in HR Administration and Co-ordination
  • Strong experience in leading people / delegating to deliver
  • Strong experience of managing employee lifecycle processes (from Recruitment to Leaver)
  • Experience of providing basic HR Advice in line with policy and procedures
  • Able to develop positive working relationships across all levels of the organisation
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
